The Christian Community congregation in Stroud found its present home on the Cainscross Road Nr. 73-75 in 1968.
The Chapel is a purpose built Church with social spaces, (community room, kitchen and gardens), where we celebrate the festivals around the year for young and old .
The Act of Consecration is held on a regular basis
Sundays 10.00 am
Tuesdays 7.30am
Thursdays 10.30 am
There is an ‘open church’ every Friday afternoon from 3pm to 5pm where one can join different activities such as drawing, painting, music, exchanging books or enjoy a cup of tea and a conversation. At times we run art exhibition contributing to the seasonal festivals.
Anyone seeking for better understanding of the work of The Christian Community is welcome to visit or attend any activities.

Next door to us is a home for the elderly, Whittington House which in turn is
flanked by Gannicox Camphill Community, also housing a flourishing kindergarden.
Next to it an NHS Medical Centre. St Luke’s offering a holistic approach to
health care.
Its beginnings go back to when the first priest, Rev. Leo Baker, worked with
the teachers of the newly found Waldorf School in 1937, Wynstones, at Brookthorpe
near Gloucester.
Like all new congregations he worked with limited means which meant the services
were celebrated in very humble settings (Bristol and Gloucester).
Since this time the growing congregation were meeting at the New Nursing Home
(now Gannicox Camphill Community) in Stroud until the church in the Cainscross
Road was built.
The town has a proud history as many mills , spinning and weaving, were located
along the Cotswold streams. At the turn of the century it built its own art
and craft college by public subscription, furthering the art and craft impulse
native to the area.. At one time it boasted several railway stations even two
competing rail companies. At the present station the great Isambard Brunel designed
the goods shed, recently rescued for future generations.Through to the present
day Stroud has remained to a wide variety and mixture of artistic and religious
expression, along side and often overlapping with his industrial heritage, one
may think of the Pangolin Foundry which cast sculptures for artists, many of
national repute.
This picture is complemented by an number of initiative with an Anthroposophical
background, providing both a challenging and inviting surrounding for the work
of The Christian Community
